Welcome

SOAP celebrates 50 years of Adventurous Outdoor Play!

What’s your earliest memory of playing outdoors?

For over five decades, SOAP has provided a safe outdoor space for Oxford’s young people to play and to discover themselves. Over the course of this year, we are going to be celebrating 50 years of SOAP and we would love you to be part of our birthday celebrations. Read more…

SOAP is a local charity run by volunteers & paid sessional staff, providing free, inclusive, supervised, adventurous outdoor play and activities. No booking is necessary but please check opening times and days as we are not always open to all ages at all times.

We believe all children have a right to play, regardless of background and/or ability.

We welcome all children – disabled and non-disabled, children with learning difficulties, children with mental health conditions, and children with behaviours that may be challenging.  We’ll do our best to accommodate and support the requirements of all children within a physically challenging, popular setting.  Please email us on admin@soapoxford.org or speak to a play worker when you arrive if your child requires any specific support, or you have any questions about our facilities and equipment.

Please note: SOAP operates an open access, drop-in playground. As such, the site is not OFSTED registered and should not be used as full time childcare. A maximum 2-hour visit is recommended.

We run:
